It’s Holiday time and it’s nice to play with gold and silver shades…
Here some tips to avoid mistakes:
CHOOSE THEM IN HARMONY WITH YOUR UNDERTONE
Gold and silver shouldn’t be used randomly, but in harmony with our natural colors!
Take my test to find out your skin undertone: if you have warm and solar colors, choose gold; if you have cool and lunar colors, opt for silver.
BE CAREFUL OF SILHOUETTE
Metallic fabrics tend to enlarge optically. So be careful how you use them!
If you have a slim and thin body, be daring with dresses and other lamé clothes.
If you have a robust body instead, use gold and silver for accessories only.
BE CONSISTENT
Once you choose the metal you are going to use, be consistent with the rest of the look.
I’m not obliged to wear lamé from head to toe, but everything I wear in metallic must follow the same shade.
For example: if I decide to use gold shoes, I’ll use yellow gold even for jewelry.
MATCH MAKEUP TOO
This consistency also applies to beauty.
That doesn’t mean to match every detail maniacally, from the nail polish to bobby pins .
However, it means that if I wear a silver dress or accessory, I’ll do my makeup with cool colors (black-grey-raspberry); if I use gold, I’ll do my makeup with warm colors (brown-beige-apricot).
BETTER BE ALONE THAN IN BAD COMPANY
Metallic clothes and accessories are challenging , especially in winter time.
Let them be the real starts of the look, combining them with dark colors and simple lines.
Treat them like real pattern and avoid to mixing them with other ones: animal prints, flowers, stripes, polka dots, etc.
